Jairo Ferreira 216 Thus, in order not to remain in a perspective that we consider reduced since it focuses on the critique of media produc- tion systems appropriated by capital (as critical theory did with the concept of cultural industry), it is necessary for the analysis of platforms and algorithms, to go beyond: to reflect and investigate social uses and reception, two concepts that we gather around the media consumption concept, thus enabling reflection on circulation.
