Mediatized Sapiens: Communicational knowledge

The pandemic intertwining with mediatization 273 with communicational matrices, however, in a different way. To face one of the possibilities of containing the dissemination of the virus and to avoid its spread and effects, a ban was decreed on two pillars of interactional processes between individuals -- contact and agglomeration. Consequently, techno-media pro- cesses became an instance to operate complex intertwining and constitute a new communicational landscape, especially in the university, as a social subsystem. Axes of teaching and research activities, whose interactions were, until then, centered on the boundaries between university culture and agencies - whose logics, in turn, scheduled their activities, were permeated by the injunctions of mediatization operations of the pandemic, causing experimentation in their routines, according to traces of “contamination” and “dissemination” of a culture that seems to indicate only signs of a complex process of transformation of educational processes in systemic terms. 2. University, along three paths To understand traces of these experiments, we briefly describe three paths that involve university development ac- cording to communicational matrices. The first involves older routines, historically based onmediatingmatrices that get transformed according to protocols and mutations that have already manifested themselves, mainly over the last century, but which have become more acute in the first decades of the current one. In a second moment, we emphasize the characteristics of the conditions of production, storage, and circulation of knowledge developed by the university over a long period, and which accredited it as an instance of mediation of knowledge, began to manifest according to other dynamics of intertwining, involving diverse social systems, as a result of techno-communicational mutations and media references that affect their identity and social relations. As we will see ahead, its dynamics became more complex with the emergence of the internet, unfolding intense situations of permeation of social practices by technologies and logics of communication, giving rise to changes in the conditions of access and exchange of knowledge, on the part of institutions
