Mediatized Sapiens: Communicational knowledge

Antonio Fausto Neto 290 discourse enunciated that epidemic based on materialities of newspaper pages. We highlight the fact that AIDS would be an effect of the construction of journalistic narratives, possibly the seminal moment of one of the emerging stages of mediatization (FAUSTO NETO, 2000). This time, we draw attention to obser- vational processes on the pandemic in the context of university production, observing the intertwining of communicational actions on the pandemic that occur at the university. Studies that ask what is there of mediatization on the pandemic are privi- leged, but, at the same time, we question: how would the pandemic be making an important turn in the academic communi- cational investigative work, since its outbreak, over the years 2020-202 F 1 r ? om an investigative point of view, we consider relevant studies on the university’s relations with mediatization, especially phenomena such as the pandemic that emerges, in the context of this relationship, as a problem that crosses the conditions (institutional, symbolic, epistemic, etc.) of matrices of knowledge production. If there is a need to examine the links of mediatization and its impact on university life, we also recognize the need to examine its role in the engendering of complex events such as the outbreak of the pandemic and, specifically, the need to describe the materialities of the discursive entanglements that highlight the pandemic as a matter fraught with meanings. In conclusion, we launch a hypothesis that results from the analytical exercise developed here. If health instructions guided the observance of social isolation – therefore, suspension of social contact – the possibilities of building it were transferred to mediatization insofar as their operations, by intertwining, tried to assume the possibilities of building contacts constitut- ing new relational patterns based on an architecture and logics of techno-mediatization. There is much to be inventoried about marks of mediatization intertwining with the pandemic, and many of the communication strategies operated during these times of apprehension are important to understand the relation- ship of this issue with life in communicational terms. Possibly, the resumption of these first traits can restore paths in search of new ways of understanding emerging problems such as the
