He was a professor and researcher in the Graduate Program in Comunicação at Unisinos (RS) from 1999 to 2021, and coordinated the Program from 2002 to 2004. He was the President of COMPÓS (Associação Nacional dos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação) management 1993-95. He was a CNPq Researcher 1A until 2021.
