Platforms, algorithms and AI: Issues and hypotheses in the mediatization perspective

201 The theoretical-methodological problematization in circulation and platform research1 A problematização teórico-metodológica nas pesquisas de circulação e plataformas Viviane Borelli2 Abstract: The complexity of discursive circulation processes in the context of mediatized societies has challenged researchers to reflect on these ongoing processes. In the last decade, within the scope of the research carried out, a challenge has been faced: that of the theoretical-methodological problematization. The aim of this article is to report on methodological experiments and reflect on the need to understand such complexities of meaning production. According to the contributions of Eliseo Verón that there is no linearity or causality in the world of the meanings, we understand that the data extracted from the plat- forms must be problematized. The circulatory process leaves discursive marks that deserve to be treated not only as data to be described, but above all as clues that must be interpreted and strained. Keywords: circulation; methodology; platforms; meanings.
