329 Interactional digital algorithm1 Algoritmo digital interacional José Luiz Braga2 Abstract: The article begins with a reference to the increase in circulation of the term “algorithm”. Reflecting on reasons for the sensation of novelty of a word in use since the 9th century, the article resists a simplified and reassuring didactic diffusion and specifies the uniqueness of the interactional digital algorithm. It discusses its entry into the scope of culturally developed interactional productions and the communication work of diversity. It highlights five challenges posed by the presence and devel- opment of interactional algorithms. It adds critical angles proposed by other authors and concludes by presenting some stra- tegic lines to face the manifest challenges.
