359 About the authors Ada C. Machado da Silveira Full professor at POPSCOM UFSM. CNPq Researcher. She was a visiting professor at Universidad Nacional de Quilmes, Universidad Nacional de La Plata and Universidad Nacional de San Luis (Argentina), Universidad Nacional de Ciudad del Este and Uni- versidad Autónoma de Asunción (Paraguay) via the Program Teaching Scale from AUMG. She was a visiting professor at Ben- emérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla and at Universidad Nacional de Tlaxcala by the Brazil-Mexico agreement. She has acted as a senior researcher by the CAPES-STINT Program at Södertörn University, Sweden. She publishes, investigates and supervise students on themes like: Mediatizantion and science, Mediatization and public security, Communication for develop- ment, Newsworthiness, in research and development projects funded by agencies like CAPES, FAPERGS, CNPq and FAO. She is the editor of the journal Animus. Revista Interamericana de Comunicação Midiática (Inter-American Journal of Media Com- munication) and FACOS-UFSM Publishing House.
