59 Platformed interaction in the multipolar world Journalism, autocracy, and democracy1 Interação plataformizada no mundomultipolar. jornalismo, autocracia e democracia Ada C. Machado da Silveira2 Abstract: The mediatization horizon requires addressing the challenges of platformed interaction and its inherent algorith- mic and datafication requirements. I believe it shows the confrontation between visions of the exercise of political power, which involves the journalistic exercise in democratic societ- ies, and another one considered proper to autocratic societies. Journalistic deontology sustains the activity as one of the pillars of liberal democracies in the West. In other societies, such as the Brazilian, the practice of autocratic journalism is evident. I, therefore, pose the question of the weight of the platformization of journalism as a qualifying element of its processes. Keywords: Journalism; Democracy; Autocracy.
